What Did Semeron Do for Our Client?

Complete project management from conceptual phase through use-case design, test design, actual testing and results analysis and reporting. Using Semeronís customer-centric design methodology, our customer was able to define business-relevant workflows for simulating performance within for primary industry segments: High Technology, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Insurance, Chemicals and Life Sciences.

The resulting workflows were automated and simulated an enterprise deployment with tens-of-thousands of employees Ė larger than any industry simulation of its kind. Semeron also assisted our client in establishing key alliances with large hardware vendors (Fortune 10-100) to accomplish this engagement. Semeron published the results of this project in the form of a White Paper Ė which received significant press coverage.

What Was Our Client's Problem?

Our client chose SAP to manage all functions of its business and needed to implement this new system on time and within budget. Semeron managed the project including application, technical, change management, training and internal support teams of 300 employees and consultants, as well as $150 million project budget. Challenges included multiple reorganizations, resistance of decentralized divisions to common solutions, conversion of high volume of legal entities, projects and fixed assets from legacy systems.

What Did Semeron Do for Our Client?

We designed and implemented this aggressive global SAP system. We enhanced and rebuilt ERP system support organization with focus on Customer Relationship Management, maximizing benefits and reengineering processes for up to 15,000 users in North and South America, Canada, UK, other European countries and Singapore.

Project activities encompassed mobilizing team; setting up team compensation and incentive model; refining and validating business case; creating shared mission, vision, value statements, brand and brand characteristics and communication plans; change management and training; configuration; business process changes; data conversions; training; delivery; post-implementation support. Technical activities included sizing system, all basis activities; interfaces. Statistics: 2,000 legal entities, 160 servers, 200 interfaces, 500,000 assets, 250,000 projects and 1 million project work breakdown structures/networks. System used by up to 15,000 users in North and South America, Canada, UK, other European countries and Singapore. Modules included financial, project management/project systems, purchasing, tax, FERC reporting, human resources, payroll, employee self-service for payroll and benefits.

How Did Our Client Benefit?

Project was completed on time and budget. Project delivered to very strict implementation controls -- only two "instances" with a standard chart of accounts and virtually no code changes.

What Was Our Client's Problem?

To support their aggressive growth plans of doubling global store count within two years, our client needed to introduce a new automation solution to support their store operations and integration with corporate headquarters. This solution needed to support a rapidly growing number of global retail stores by providing store polling, inventory management, POS/cash register integration, credit/debit card processing, time sheets, inventory management, time sheet management and software distribution for store automation.

Semeronís professionals provided overall project management, requirements and system analysis, design and selection of a new store polling, inventory, POS, time sheet and software distribution system for store automation. We led efforts for system design, feasibility, vendor selection and final design and deployment recommendations.

This initiative enabled our client to meet its stated goal of doubling the number of retail stores within 2 years. The resulting store polling and software distribution solution allowed them to support a global presence, with online retail support 7 by 24 in every major time zone globally -- while tracking and managing from a centrally managed system.
